0.4.0 release


It’s been several months, so it’s time for another version change.

Apart from internal changes (ruining backwards compatibility), the biggest change is that the engine can now load levels from a (somewhat) human-readable file format. Why make a level editor when you can just use a text editor, right? As always, the “map test” is where this feature can be most readily be seen in action, which…somewhat makes up for the fact that it’s completely undocumented. Good luck to anyone trying to use this engine for anything practical.

Speaking of the map test, I’m now using it as a web-based demo on the main page, so it should be easier to get a sense of what games this engine is used for will look like. A demo is worth a thousand screenshots, as they say.
